Robby Parris Is The Balls

I'll have a lot more to say on the game in the hangover, but this first post is dedicated to Parris. Robby had 9 catches for 92 yards- and almost every single one of those catches were huge, clutch catches. If someone says that ND had a gutty performance, you needn't look any farther than what Parris did today to affirm that statement. I hope the injury, due to a late hit by Taylor Mays, isn't serious- but it didn't look good.

Here's to you Robby. Tough luck, and thank-you.

Can we call the Weis experiment over now??

I've had enough of signature losses to USC.

We need to look at the total picture not one game! The total picture, including having a football program that fits the image and purpose of Notre Dame, is part of that. The current season is only half over and there is much to be determined. To call for the dismissal of Weis is premature and wrong for that reason. One game doesn't make a season even if many fans believe that is so. Charlie Weis is not an experiment. Contrary to what many believe, we saw a much improved effort against USC coming much closer to a win than we have since 2005. One of the principal reasons for that is the recruiting of excellent talent by Charlie Weis.

I finally know how USC fans must've felt during Lou's time at ND. The fact of the matter is that we will never beat USC as long as Pete Carroll and Charlie Weis are walking the sidelines. It is as close to a mathematical certainty as things like this can be. Even if we get all our skill players back (sweet Jesus, will SC ever have to defend Michael Floyd?), and even if our defense makes a quantum leap, it ain't like USC isn't going to be improving. Weis has done a good job rebuilding the talent, and he's learning enough from his failings that I think he could average 8-10 wins per year. I just don't think he can ever beat a Pete Carroll coached USC team.

in today's college football scene, one game can make a season. While i don't agree with the calls for Charlie's head (lets see what happens the next 6 games) I am frustrated by the product being showcased on the field. We still seem to "play down" to every one of our opponents.
