Welcome to Play on Playa here at Subway Domer. This is our fun little way of "ranking" the roster players for the 2012 Notre Dame football team. Really, it's more like categorizing them. Below, you'll find the chart that holds the keys to the Playa Kingdom. Let's go...

Defensive End

Chase Hounshell may not be one of the first names to pop into your head when you start thinking about the possible playas on this list- but he is one of mine. If you have any faith in Brian Kelly, his staff, and their ability to develop talent, then you have to get excited at the potential that Hounshell holds.

Chase didn't have to play last year, but he did. He could have been redshirted quite easily, but played quite anfew meaningful minutes for the Irish. I think this speaks volumes on his potential and worth on this team. After the whole Lynch debacle, Hounshell was the first player I pointed to. Now don't get it twisted, I don't believe Hounshell is on the same level as Lynch on he field right now, but I do think he will play a pretty big role this year and help fill that void. Plus, he's from Ohio, so that absolutely makes him a better teammate and overall human being.

chase Hounshell Role Playa

This Role Playa could develop into a BIG one this season. Notre Dame will use a pretty heavy rotation along the defensive line this season, and Chase will be among them. His spring injury shielded him from being that "spring name" that fades away. He will be a please surprise for some, and nightmare for opponents.
ghostface killah Supreme Playa
Elite player for the Fighting Irish. This player is either a superstar
already, or right on the verge of superstardom. Absolutely vital
piece of the puzzle.
frank sinatra Major Playa
Major contributor for the Fighting Irish. This player is most likely
a starter, but doesn't have to be. The contributions from these
players will decide the outcomes of games.
ron jeremy Role Playa
We all have our roles to play, but these players will make their
living as one. They will come off the bench to provide needed
help, and a "spark."
charlie brown Playa In Training
This player is most likely to be a benchwarmer for this season,
but will be lined up for a great career if they keep their eye on
the ball.
