In the wonderful world of recruiting, things sometimes move at a snail’s pace, while sometimes things move like the Millenium Falcon- when it’s working right.
It’s official: #NotreDame has landed commitment No. 9 in San Antonio Christian wide receiver Corey Robinson.

And if seems like it was only yesterday when Irish recruiting fanatics were vomiting all over themselves about the lack of commitments for the 2013 class. How insanely stupid some of you look now. Notre Dame is standing at nine commitments. Nine. I can’t remember a time that the number was so high so early. Probably because it has never happened.
However, instead of sitting here and writing an I told you so (as far as chilling the fuck out is concerned) I am compelled to gush at just how well Notre Dame is doing with filling its needs.
After basically filling up its offensive line class, landing a top quarterback, and getting off on a good foot with a CB recruit (of which they need 3)… the Irish have now received commitments from 2 wide receivers in a class that could take 4 or 5. James Onwualu was the first, and now the 6’4″ 195 pound Corey Robinson from San Antonio. It’s definitley a good start, and as slots get filled, the pressure put on other prospects builds.
Brian Kelly has always stated that he needs 7 receivers to run his offense properly. Notre Dame will probably struggle with that number for another year, but perhaps in 2013… They will finally be where their coach wants them.
*Please note that I refrained from talking about the father of Corey Robinson*
WELCOME TO ND, SON OF DAVID THE ADMIRAL ROBINSON!
