twittermania

Welcome to TWITTERMANIA!!! This is the place to find the very best tweets about Notre Dame football, college football, and a whole bunch of stuff in between.

This is a contest, but there are no prizes to be had. I mean, how do you hand over a fat bottle of brewed glory to someone? You don't, as it just appears from somewhere where that type of stuff is made. You can find the rankings here, or at the top of the page in the "TWITTERMANIA" tab.

This week: I launched the Subway Domer ladies line, Purdue went down, and the ACC just happened. This is a little messy, and definitly over the allotted "10" but what did you expect from your Emperor?

Right... ON TO THE TWEETS:

The Man Cave QB: Notre Dame 20, Purdue 17

Written by Herring Bone on .

Primer: Rapid Reaction

The MCQB podcast kicked off with a simple but fair request regarding the reaction to Saturday's win: Take a deep breath Irish fans. I know this review is late in terms of Irish blogging, but I love the refrain from quite a few cool heads in our blogging community. My boss, The Subway Domer, felt the need to hammer it home that the Irish won on Saturday. Bayou Irish at Her Loyal Sons preached some of the same. Keith Arnold at NBC made the finest point of them all - with this 2012 schedule there are no "style points" to be had. Take the victory and get ready for the next opponent. With senior starters Jamoris Slaughter, Kapron Lewis-Moore and Tyler Eifert watching from the sideline, sophomore kicker Kyle Brindza put the Irish ahead for good ... while filling in for another injured senior starter - kicker Nick Tausch. Was the QB decision confusing? Yup! Was it right?? Yup! As a blogger of this particular team it's hard to project where this leads Notre Dame in the long run, but when the clock hit 0:00, Notre Dame had pulled a victory out from an opponent who was vastly underrated and properly prepared. Let's just take it.

Blogpoll Top 25 Ballot: Week 2

Written by Steve In Iowa on .

So this week is what I call "Conventional Wisdom Week" and I hate conventional wisdom. It is so called because this is the week that my ballot starts looking more and more like a typical AP or USA today ballot with some picks that I was high on just not panning out (looking at you Nebraska, OkSU, and Wisconsin). You will see that there is very little movement in my top ten as all of last week's top ten came away winners. On the strength of LSU dismantling Washington I moved them up a spot to #2, but otherwise things are the same. The REAL change is with the next tier where there was a lot of falling and a lot of climbing. To begin with I know that Florida State is in everyone else's top ten but I just can't do it with wins against Murray State and Savannah State. They will stay outside the top ten until they prove they can beat some bigger programs. The big movers on my board are Texas and K-State as both looked impressive. Louisville, BYU, Arizona and Florida make my list with solid wins. Oh and ND moves up despite the big "meh" we all saw Saturday against the Boilers (granted injuries and a surprisingly game group from Purdue were a huge factor). Let's see how things shake out this weekend!

Bagpipe Monday: Team Win

Written by The Subway Domer & Great Shane on .

bagpipe monday

Welcome to Bagpipe Monday on Subway Domer. Friends, the old adage is that, "a win, is a win." And although I firmly believe in that saying, I am well aware that there were some deficiencies against Purdue- particularly along the offensive line.

Be that as it may, the Irish were forced to keep sending in reserve after reserve as starters kept going out with one injury or another. This was a "TEAM win is a fucking brilliant win" situation. Nice.

Enjoy the highlight pipes y'all!

Rapid Reaction: Notre Dame 20, Purdue 17

Written by Steve Herring on .

notre dame

"Rapid" is a term used especially loosely this week. There are a lot of ways to take in a Notre Dame Football game and the marvel that is technology certainly was on my side this weekend. As mentioned in the preview, my attendance was expected at a wedding that kicked off about 15 min after the 2nd half of the game started. The wedding was at a country club and was held on some newer looking turf. It's no coincidence the ceremony was blazing fast and improved the atmosphere of the entire evening. Jokes aside, the wedding was faster than George Atkinson III. I heard he was fast but have little recent evidence.

The Hangover: Purdue

Written by The Subway Domer on .

notre dame purdue

Perhaps the title of this post should be,"BRIAN KELLY TROLLS AN ENTIRE NATION." Because really, after Notre Dame's 20-17 victory over Purdue, it seems to me that there has been very little discussion about the actual game as a whole. Brian Kelly made a QB move late in a game that Notre Dame won, and then chose not to provide either quarterback to be questioned by the media AFTER he had already just said Golson was still the starter.

All of that was fluff, in my opinion, for a game that saw Purdue fight their ass off and Notre Dame sending in reserve after reserve because of injury. That should be the story, but it wasn't. That's why I'm here.

Welcome friends. The open thread is open & feel free to rant all you like today. I will be up at the game today, so my presence will be ghostly. Hopefully though, I will be able to stop by a time or two. I'm sure some of the other members of The Subway Domer Staff will be by to join in.

GO IRISH!!!
