Primer: Saturday's Rapid Reaction

Jameson at 4:30am! No sleep! Notre Dame Domination! Thank God Monday's a Holiday! Things we've seen in dreams and nightmares about the 2012 Fighting Irish finally played out in front of our awaiting Irish eyes on Saturday morning. Now let's spend all week talking about it! Welcome to the debut edition of The Man Cave Quarterback on Subway Domer. The title originated back at my old site and has since morphed into my Twitter handle and a new podcast. It was an exciting and the early morning in the Herring Bone Man Cave featuring Irish Coffees, early morning Rudy, and a blogger who never even went to sleep Friday night. I've begun to piece my life back together, but presented for your pleasure is my review of Notre Dame's 50-10 thumping of NAVY in Dublin. It's great to be back Irish fans!

Bagpipe Monday: Run Up The Score

Written by The Subway Domer on .

bagpipe monday

Welcome to Bagpipe Monday on Subway Domer. Friends, our beloved Irish just put half a hundy on the Naval Academy. Haters are gonna hate. Don't try to convince anyone otherwise. Obviously we all know ND was just running the ball and running it well, even with the second string in the game. When that "killer instinct" is being developed, this is what happens to inferior opponents- they get beat down.

Good.

While we have seen this for a while now with Kelly, it is still a breath of fresh air after so many years of trying to sit on leads against weak opponents for an entire half. I'm down.

The polls still haven't made their way back to BM yet. However, the Highlight Videos from Great Shane have... MOTHERFUCKA YES! Enjoy...

Rapid Reaction: Notre Dame 50, Navy 10

Rapid Reaction to Notre Dame defeating NAVY 50-10

Welcome new and old friends to Notre Dame Rapid Reaction - Navy Edition. For the uninitiated - I make a quick post-game summary with the assist of a "glance" over the box score. Players I noticed, changes that surprised us, and anything else noteworthy from the day's stats. I will continue to provide slightly more in-depth reviews & previews of the games after another look tonight but this is a quick-hitter. ND is 1-0 and today is no time for heavy doses of bitching and moaning. With that in mind, here's the first Herring Bone Rapid Reaction on Subway Domer:

The Brawling Hibernian has crawled out from under his summertime rock to the joyous sound of college football in the air, and most importantly; Notre Dame Football.

BH decided to take the IBG questions that Keith Arnold sent over to The Subway Domer and give his own special blend of kickass to it. Enjoy:

Notre Dame v. NAVY Primer: Notes & Predictions

Written by Steve Herring on .

The University of Notre Dame (0-0) vs. The U.S. Naval Academy (0-0)

Aviva Stadium - Dublin, Ireland - 9:00 am EST on CBS

First Things - Thank you to that which is almighty for bringing this offseason of bad news piled high on worse news to an exhausting close. I'm looking forward to joining Allen Pinkett and millions of other Irish fans in front of my couch to lie about drinking cocktails while I actually spend Saturday's wee hours nervously tweeting about the games goings-ons and trying not to break things. Maybe we can be content that we're able to put the spring and summer of 2012 in the books and stop talking about practice, suspensions, girlfriends, Rick Reilly, "other" shit, and go out and play that "toughest schedule in the country".

In Week 1 Navy is unlikely to provide a proper test for our young quarterback, his inexperienced wide receivers, the right side of our offensive line, or two converted offensive players starting at cornerback. Let's be honest that anything less than a 21 point win will leave fans and coaches alike uneasy heading into a jet-lagged Purdue game. Navy limped out of South Bend in 2011 with a 2-6 record en route to a disappointing 5-7 season. Former Navy QB Ricky Dobbs is now two years removed from beating ND thrice and FB Alexander Teich will no longer carry Irish defenders on gashing fullback dives. Navy is a team is out for a new identity and they won't find it this Saturday unless plenty of terrible, no good, very bad things befall their competition. Doesn't mean the proud Midshipmen won't try. They ALWAYS try.

The Anti-Preview: Navy. September 1, 2012

Written by The Subway Domer on .

NOTRE DAME NAVY

OMGZ it's football time!!! After yet another long offseason, the Fighting Irish are set to kick off another season, and as Subway Domer has done for many years... ANTI-PREVIEW TIME!

This is obviously a season that will start off with a whole shitload of questions. No matter what, I'm sure all of those questions will be answered, but some of them may be "god like" in that we may not even know it until much later.

All of this as the Irish open the season up in Dublin, Ireland against...
